What is a Booth Monitor?

A booth monitor is a speaker placed in the DJ booth or performance area that allows the DJ to hear the music being played through the main sound system. It provides direct audio feedback so the DJ can accurately monitor the mix while performing.

In large venues, clubs, or festivals, the main speakers may be positioned far away from the DJ booth. Because sound takes time to travel, the DJ might hear a delayed version of the music coming from the main speakers. A booth monitor solves this problem by delivering a local speaker feed that is synchronized with the mixer output.

Booth monitors usually have their own volume control, allowing the DJ to adjust the monitoring level independently from the main audience sound system. They help DJs maintain accurate beatmatching, cueing, and transitions during live performances.
