What is a Bus (Console)?
In an audio console, a bus is a signal path that combines audio from multiple channels and routes them together to a shared destination. It allows several signals to be grouped and processed or controlled as a single unit.
For example, multiple microphone or instrument channels can be sent to a mix bus, where their signals are combined to create a final stereo mix. Other buses may be used for subgroups, monitor mixes, or recording outputs.
Buses are an essential part of mixing consoles because they help organize complex audio setups. They allow engineers to route groups of signals efficiently and apply processing or level adjustments to multiple channels at the same time.
