What is a De-Click?

A de-click is an audio processing tool used to remove short, sharp noises known as clicks from an audio recording. These clicks can be caused by issues such as digital glitches, vinyl record pops, mouth noises, or small recording artifacts.

De-click processors work by detecting very brief spikes or irregularities in the audio waveform that do not match the surrounding sound. The processor then reduces or replaces these spikes to smooth out the audio without affecting the overall recording.

De-click tools are commonly used in audio restoration, podcast editing, voice recordings, and transferring audio from vinyl records or older recordings. They help clean up unwanted artifacts and improve the overall clarity and quality of the audio.
