What is a Royalty-Free License?

A royalty-free license is a type of license that allows a user to pay a one-time fee to use a piece of copyrighted content without needing to pay ongoing royalties for each use. After obtaining the license, the user can typically use the content multiple times within the scope of the agreement.

In music and media, royalty-free licenses are commonly used for stock music, sound effects, images, and video assets. The license outlines how the content can be used, such as in videos, advertisements, podcasts, or games, and may include limitations related to distribution, resale, or specific types of projects.
