What is a TS Cable?

A TS cable is an audio cable that uses a Tip-Sleeve (TS) connector with two conductors. The tip carries the audio signal, while the sleeve acts as the ground.

TS cables are typically used to transmit unbalanced audio signals, which makes them suitable for short cable runs. Because they do not use a balanced signal design, they are more susceptible to noise and interference over long distances.

These cables are commonly used for electric guitars, bass guitars, keyboards, and other instrument connections. The standard TS connector is usually a ¼-inch (6.35 mm) plug, often referred to as a standard instrument cable in music equipment.
