What is a Wet/Dry Mix?
A wet/dry mix is a control that adjusts the balance between the original unprocessed signal (dry) and the processed signal (wet) produced by an audio effect.
The dry signal is the original audio without any effects applied, while the wet signal is the version that has been processed by effects such as reverb, delay, chorus, or distortion. The wet/dry control determines how much of each signal is heard in the final output.
For example, increasing the wet level adds more of the effect to the sound, while increasing the dry level keeps more of the original signal present. Wet/dry mix controls are commonly used in effects plugins, guitar pedals, and mixing processors to shape the intensity of an effect within a track or mix.
