Speed Garage is a high-energy electronic music genre that developed in the United Kingdom in the mid-to-late 1990s. It evolved from UK Garage and is known for its faster tempo, heavy basslines, and shuffled rhythmic patterns.

Speed Garage tracks typically run around 130–138 beats per minute and feature a strong four-on-the-floor kick drum combined with syncopated hi-hats and shuffled percussion. The rhythm often includes swung drum patterns that give the music a distinctive groove compared to traditional house music.

One of the defining elements of Speed Garage is its deep, wobbling basslines, which are often created using low-frequency synthesizers and modulation effects. Producers also commonly use chopped vocal samples, organ stabs, and energetic build-ups that add intensity to the track.

Speed Garage played an important role in the evolution of several later UK electronic genres. It influenced styles such as 2-step garage and later bass-driven dance music.
