Damai International Launches ORCA Label and Global Audition to Build International Music Talent
When Alibaba‑owned Damai International opened its doors on July 2 2026, it didn’t just announce a new label—it unveiled a full‑scale talent engine designed to surface and nurture musicians worldwide. The company introduced ORCA (Original Creative Artists), an artist‑development and content‑production platform that will serve as the main pipeline for future projects.
The ORCA debut coincided with the launch of the “All My Anecdotes Global Audition,” a worldwide talent search carried out in partnership with the entertainment label All My Anecdotes. The audition runs from July 3 to August 3 and welcomes performers of any gender, age, or nationality. Applications can be submitted through the All My Anecdotes website or by emailing casting@orcaartists.com.
ORCA’s first public showcase was a cinematic brand trailer featuring dancer and choreographer Audrey Lane and singer‑songwriter DANY. Lane, known for her work with Mnet’s Jam Republic and recent collaborations with K‑pop act MEOVV and Chinese pop star Liu Yuxin, appears alongside DANY, whose introspective music has begun to carve out a niche in the indie scene. The trailer blends music and dance in a way that the label says reflects its creative vision.
“We aim to discover promising talent worldwide and provide them with the resources, training and opportunities they need to thrive,” said Walter Zheng, president of Damai International. “By leveraging Alibaba’s ecosystem and ORCA’s creative capabilities and extensive experience in developing international artists, we are building a platform that empowers talent to grow and pursue opportunities on the global stage.”
Daryl Wang, senior vice president of music business at Damai International, added, “ORCA is about creativity, artistry and thinking beyond borders. We’re excited to have artists like DANY and Audrey Lane involved in this program. For those who join this journey, this is more than an audition. It is an opportunity to learn from and collaborate with established creators, develop alongside some of the industry’s most promising emerging talent and become part of a creative community with global reach.”
Selected candidates will join ORCA’s existing roster—currently featuring Lane and DANY—and receive training in performance, music production, and stagecraft from industry professionals. Each artist will follow a personalized development plan tailored to their strengths and career goals. ORCA’s long‑term objective is to debut a new international music group composed of talent sourced from the audition.
Damai International has been steadily expanding its live‑entertainment ecosystem worldwide. Its services span live‑event ticketing, event management, artist management, content production, and venue services. In November 2025, the company launched MAISEAT, a global ticketing platform that has since expanded into multiple markets.
The ORCA launch and global audition reflect Damai International’s broader strategy to deepen its presence in the fast‑growing Asian entertainment market. By marrying Alibaba’s technology and data capabilities with a dedicated artist‑development arm, the company seeks to create a sustainable pipeline of talent capable of competing on the global stage.
Applications for the All My Anecdotes Global Audition are currently being accepted. Interested performers can apply through the official All My Anecdotes website (https://www.ama‑official.com/cn/apply/) or by emailing casting@orcaartists.com. Updates on the audition are posted on Instagram accounts @allmyanecdotes and @orcaartists.
Damai International’s foray into artist development and global talent scouting marks a significant expansion of its entertainment portfolio. The company’s integration of technology, content production, and live‑event services positions it to leverage emerging trends in global music collaboration and cross‑border talent development.
As the audition period progresses, industry observers will watch how ORCA’s talent pipeline shapes the next generation of international music acts and whether the label’s model can be replicated by other entertainment companies seeking to tap into the global market.
